One of the only studios to focus on traditional style, partners for 10+ years, longtime mentees of Alex & Desiree. J&L has run cultural trips multiple times a year to the DR with students in collaboration with Metamovements. Offer and dance other styles of dance. Jenna has a Master's Degree in teaching and is also a middle school teacher. Luis grew up as a professional hip hop dancer in PR. Both speak fluent Spanish. Have training in bachata, zouk, salsa, ballroom. Directed over 20 dance groups in San Antonio, TX between 2017 and 2022. Currently living/dancing in San Diego, CA.

Stan is dedicated to provide long term value. Raised in uptown manhattan, he learned valuable life lessons that provoked a relentless desire to lead a path of self-discovery through dance. 

Carlos Gomez of Carlos and Susan is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor of tropical dances such as Dominican Bachata, Merengue, and On2 style Salsa. Over the course of their 8-year partnership, they have gained valuable experience teaching and performing both nationally and internationally. Originally from the Dominican Republic, since 2021 settled in NW Arkansas leading Raza Dance Studio, and we are committed to providing a fun and enriching learning experience that has never been seen before in this area.

Beverly Lopez is a Bronx native, dancer, choreographer, and educator. She is the founding Artistic Director of REDi Dance Company (2017), which comprises a professional adult contemporary dance company as well as educational programming for youth. Beverly earned a BFA in Multimedia Performing Arts at CUNY Lehman College. She has worked as a teaching artist for grades k-12 at the DreamYard Project since 2017 and is an adjunct professor of Latin dance at Lehman college. 

Jayven Colon is entering his 7th year teaching Salsa and Bachata. He has taught for a variety of communities, much of his early work focused on low-income areas providing dance classes for non-profit organizations and public schooling. He has 9 years of working in Public Education and has taught social dancing and choreography to students K-12, College, and adults of all ages. His passion is to spark the fire of new dancers, guiding them to find a form of expression that supports their emotional, physical, and mental needs. “I live by the motto, everyone can dance!” - Jayven Colon 

Edd Amaya is a Texas Native with Afro Latino Caribbean roots currently residing in Phoenix AZ. He specializes in Bachata and Salsa! His Urban twist on Caribbean movement in Bachata makes him one of one. He has choreographed creative/entertaining shows and absolutely loves social dancing. His workshops are always engaging and full of knowledge. He is excited to keep sharing his passion of the Afro Latin Caribbean rhythms with the world wide dance community. Additional Info: 

Yasmeen has always been pulled to music and dance as ways to build community, connect to the body, and find joy in movement. They enjoy expressing a range of themselves through Afro-Latin dance styles, and strongly believe that there is room for everyone to show up as they are and connect to dance in a way that is meaningful to them. She hopes to foster spaces where students can trust themselves, trust their peers, and feel supported in their growth and learning. Yasmeen has trained in Colombia, Cuba, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and the United States in several styles of salsa and bachata and is always eager to offer accessible and friendly classes for new dancers!
