The AnD mentorship program is designed to address the needs of those who interested in advancing their dance careers in the afro-latin dance network. It can be overwhelming trying to navigate the journey to our dance goals alone without a mentor to guide you.
Afro-latin dancers have different goals and needs. What steps do I take to become a great teacher and/or open up a dance studio? I would like to develop my artistry as a performing dance artist. I would like to develop my skill set as a social dancer. I want to become a Bachata World Champion. I would like to travel to dance festivals to teach and perform. I would like to understand more about the history and evolution of Bachata. I want to understand more about the music. These are just a few points addressed in our program address if you chose to sign up.
You will receive 1:1 virtual coaching directly from your mentors (Alex & Desiree) tailored to help you get closer to your dance goals. They will provide live virtual private lessons where you will receive technical dance training via exercises and drills. You will also receive theory, concepts and cultural context to support your dancing. In addition, you will have the ability to contact your mentor for advice, questions, feedback and/or clarity to reinforce/solidify something you’ve learned. Regardless of your goals, Alex and Desiree can support you in reaching them. If and when they cannot provide expertise on a topic, they will suggest where you can source the information.

Step 2 – Schedule Short Intro Session: Discuss Goals
Step 3 – Schedule 1st Formal Session: 1st Payment Due
What’s included?
- 3 formal virtual privates / month (sessions will be created and catered to your specific needs / goals).
- Weekly access to mentor for advice, feedback, questions (office hours & communication vehicle to mentor’s discretion).
- Guidance / suggestions from your mentor on specific tasks that will support you in reaching your goals.
Additional Info: - 1st session will be a short 15-20 min intro/info session to discuss your background, goals and co-create game plan. - Commitment is 3-month minimum. Payments due at the beginning of each month /cycle. After 3 month you may continue your mentorship.
Mentorhip availability / eligibility is contingent upon whether your mentor determines there's a match.
